Privacy Policy

We only hold what you send us when you enquire: your contact details, your message and the details of the piece. We use it to reply, quote, make and deliver your jewellery. We do not sell it, and you can ask us to see, correct or delete it.

Who we are#

Dorata makes sculptural fine jewellery in solid gold, made to order for customers in the United States. In this policy “we” and “us” means the business below, which decides how your information is used.

What we collect and how#

There is no account, basket, checkout or form on this site. We only hold information that you choose to send us, plus a small amount the site keeps in your own browser.

When you enquire

The Enquire buttons open your own WhatsApp, email or phone app with a message ready for you to send. If you send it, we receive what you include. That is usually:

  • your name and how to reach you (phone number or email address);
  • your message, and the piece, gold, karat, size or stone you are asking about;
  • sizes, preferences and a budget range;
  • for bespoke work, any sketches, photographs or references you share.

If you go ahead with an order we will also need a delivery address and the details needed to take payment. We will explain how payment is taken before anything is made. To confirm: payment method and provider

What the site stores in your browser

The site does not set cookies. It keeps two small entries in your browser: your cookie choice, and a note that the opening animation has played during this visit. Both are listed in the Cookie Policy.

Analytics

Why we use it#

  • to reply to your enquiry and answer your questions;
  • to prepare a quote, confirm your size, gold and final price, and agree the design;
  • to make, deliver and look after your piece, including resizing or repairs we agree;
  • to keep the records the law requires, such as orders and tax records;
  • to protect our business, our customers and our designs from fraud and misuse.

Who we share it with#

We share only what each party needs to do its part:

  • Messaging and email providers. WhatsApp, your email provider and your phone carrier handle your messages under their own terms and privacy policies.
  • Service providers who help us run the business, such as email hosting and secure file storage.
  • Shipping carriers, who receive your name, address and phone number to deliver your piece insured.
  • Our workshop, which receives the specification of your piece (sizes, gold, design), not your contact details unless needed. To confirm: workshop
  • Authorities, when the law requires it, or to protect our rights or someone’s safety.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for targeted advertising. To confirm: no sale of data

How long we keep it#

We keep enquiry messages for To confirm: retention period, so we can pick up a conversation where it left off. Order records are kept for as long as tax and consumer law require. After that we delete them or keep them in a form that no longer identifies you.

How we protect it#

We limit access to the people who need it, use providers with strong security, and keep design files and photographs in access-controlled storage. No system is perfectly secure, so please do not send payment card numbers by message.

Your privacy rights#

Depending on the state you live in, including California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia and others with consumer privacy laws, you may have the right to:

  • know and access the personal information we hold about you;
  • correct information that is wrong;
  • delete your information, subject to records we must keep by law;
  • receive a copy in a portable format;
  • opt out of the sale or sharing of your information and of targeted advertising;
  • not be treated differently for using these rights.

We may ask you to confirm details from your enquiry so we know the request is yours. An authorised agent may ask on your behalf with your written permission. Global Privacy Control#

If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as a request to opt out of the sale or sharing of your information and of targeted advertising. Marketing storage stays off, and the cookie panel tells you so.

Children#

This site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy#

If we change how we use your information, we will update this page and the date at the top. If the change affects the storage on this site, we will ask for your cookie choice again.
